LeAnn Rimes has been forced to postpone dates of her Joy: The Holiday Tour concerts due to a vocal cord injury. The most recent shows affected include her Friday (Dec. 9) concert at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa as well as her Saturday (Dec. 10) tour date in Nashville, Tennessee at The Ryman Auditorium. The holiday tour features a collection of holiday classics and Rimes’ greatest hits, as well as new tunes that appear on her latest album, God’s Work.

In a handwritten statement shared across her social media accounts, Rimes explained the reason for the postponements: “It completely and utterly breaks my heart to have to announce that I will be rescheduling this weekend’s shows.” The singer then told fans that while she was battling a recent illness, doctors found a troubling issue with her vocal cords: “While sick with the flu, my doctor discovered a bleed on my vocal cord, cause by the violent cough that came along with being sick. I am getting better, but I am unable to talk or sing… doctor’s orders! I am devastated to have to do this as there was nothing more that I was looking forward to than celebrating the holidays with you. Please check your emails for rescheduled information and I will see you very soon.”

Rimes’ Nashville concert will now take place on April 8, 2023 at The Ryman, and her show at Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa has been rescheduled for September 29, 2023. Rimes has three remaining tour dates on her Joy: The Holiday Tour:  December 16-17 in Lincoln City, OR, and December 18 in Airway Heights, WA.
